In 2001, a charter for the operation of a scouting group was granted to the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Vancouver by Scouts Canada and the 28th Chinese Cultural Centre Group was formed in the same year.

Our Group’s scouting mission follows that of Scouts Canada which is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as responsible individuals and citizens. By encouraging our members to participate in various scouting activities, our Group hopes to achieve the above mission.

According to age, our scout group has various sections, namely, the Beavers (5-7), the Cubs (8-10), the Scouts (11-14), the Venturers (15-17) and the Rovers (18-26).

Currently, we have about 75 youth members.  Our experienced leaders have an average of 10 years in scouting. The Leaders plan, supervise and carry out the activities of their respective Sections, We also have a Parents’ Group Committee which acts on behalf of the sponsor to carry out its policy.

Our Group meets every Saturday afternoon from 2:45 pm – 4:45 pm at the Chinatown Chinese Cultural Centre. Parents with children are invited to come and join us at our regular meeting to gain a better understanding on how we operate. Any questions will gladly be answered by our Parents’ Group Committee members and Scout Leaders.
